Overview
We completed a total rebuild of the main runway in less than 30 calendar days — a schedule mandated by the FAA. In a true teaming environment, we worked with the Airport, FAA, and all subcontractors and vendors to eliminate disruptions to ongoing airport operations. Superior Construction rehabilitated a 4,350-foot long by 150-foot wide concrete runway, ultimately increasing the airport’s operational ability to service bigger and heavier aircrafts. Using stringless paving methods by leveraging total robotic technology allowed for continuous paving and the transmission of real-time information so that our team could make immediate adjustments. Additionally, we equipped our milling subcontractor with the technology, eliminating inconsistencies in milling the existing runway.
