Superior Construction Named 2025 AEC Building a Better World Award Winner by PSMJ

Jacksonville, Fla. (October 19, 2025) – Superior Construction has been recognized as a 2025 AEC Building a Better World Award winner by PSMJ Resources, Inc., joining 16 other architecture, engineering and construction firms honored for their community impact initiatives.

The award recognizes AEC firms that bring the same commitment to their community contributions as they do to their project work. PSMJ highlighted Superior Construction’s Construction Hike for Hope events, which raised money for suicide prevention while delivering hurricane relief and youth programs.

“Every one of these firms demonstrates that the AEC industry is about more than projects. It’s about people,” said PSMJ President Gregory Hart. “From disaster recovery to STEM education to global relief, these initiatives show the extraordinary ways that AEC firms are shaping a better world.”

Superior’s community engagement efforts span multiple areas of impact:

Mental Health and Safety Initiatives: The company helped organize Construction Hike for Hope events across several Florida cities and at its Midwest offices to raise money for mental health and suicide prevention initiatives in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Workforce Development: Superior invested in developing the future workforce through Construction Career Days throughout Florida and the Midwest, helped construct a bridge mockup for carpenter apprentices, and engaged with high school building trades programs. Superior Women in Construction (SWiC) LEAD program graduates participated in the PACE Center for Girls’ Believing in Girls Empowerment Breakfast.

Disaster Relief and Community Support: When Hurricanes Helene and Milton impacted Florida in October 2024, Superior’s teams immediately organized relief drives, collecting essential supplies for affected communities. The company also completed critical accessibility repairs at Give Kids the World Village and built 40 beds for local children through Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Partnerships and Ongoing Support: Superior maintains relationships with numerous nonprofit organizations, supporting them through initiatives such as an annual $30,000 donation to the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, which provides evidence-based prevention education programs to protect children from bullying, abuse and exploitation; and participation in American Heart Association Heart Walks across multiple locations.

The company’s philanthropic efforts reflect its core values of family, safety, integrity, innovation, commitment and empowerment, with participation across all organizational levels and geographic regions.
