Superior Construction Earns Second Consecutive Platinum Healthiest Companies Award
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 29, 2025) — Superior Construction has earned Platinum-level recognition in the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council’s (FCWWC) annual Healthiest Companies Awards for the second consecutive year. The company received the prestigious honor for its dedicated focus on creating a comprehensive workplace wellness culture.
The Platinum Award, the highest of the four categories, recognizes “best-in-class wellness programs” that “truly create a culture of health and well-being throughout their organization.” Superior launched its wellness program in 2018 and received FCWWC Silver and Gold awards before achieving its first Platinum recognition in 2024.
“We’re really proud of this recognition, but what matters most to us is seeing our employees feel their best, at work and at home,” said Calli Miller, SHRM-SCP, Superior’s Director of Human Resources. “Wellness isn’t just a corporate initiative for us — it’s part of who we are.”
The company’s wellness program provides employees access to on-site biometric screening and health coaching, helping workers proactively keep up with recommended preventive care. Employees also receive discounts on health insurance premiums based on health outcomes and participation in health coaching calls.
Through the Superior Strength Program, employees can be reimbursed up to $120 a year for a wide range of wellness activities, including gym memberships, fitness subscriptions, personal training, and exercise classes. The program also covers mental wellness resources such as meditation apps, relaxation activities, and sessions with registered dieticians or health coaches. Additionally, the company offers a telemedicine program via Teledoc, ensuring employees have convenient access to quality medical care whenever needed.
In August 2024, the company created a dedicated Wellness Room to support the growing number of new mothers among its office staff. The private, secure space provides nursing mothers with a comfortable environment for pumping during the workday, eliminating conflicts with conference rooms or other common areas. The room also serves any employee who needs a quiet, private space or a moment of peace during the day.
For 2025, Superior has enhanced its wellness approach with a quarterly focus on different aspects of employee well-being: Preventive Wellness (Q1), Physical Wellness (Q2), Financial Wellness (Q3), and Mental Health (Q4). The company continues to publish its “Wellness Matters” section in its quarterly employee newsletter, featuring practical content tailored for Superior team members.
The First Coast Worksite Wellness Council’s mission is to improve the health of the First Coast community by sharing resources and providing guidance through its member businesses. The FCWWC was established in 2008 as a community work group led by a partnership between the Florida Department of Health in Duval County and the City of Jacksonville Mayor’s Council on Fitness and Wellbeing.
