Superior Construction Wins PACER Award for Second Consecutive Year
Jacksonville, Fla. (January 9, 2025) – For the second year in a row, a Superior Construction leader has been recognized for advancing women in the industry. Director of Workforce Development Amy Henningfield has received ForConstructionPros‘ PACER Award in the Women in Construction category, following last year’s recognition of Senior Project Manager Liz Howard.
The PACER (Pavement, Asphalt, Concrete, Equipment, Rental) Award recognizes construction professionals whose accomplishments, mentorship and leadership serve as inspiration for women at all levels of the industry. Henningfield was selected from a competitive field of nominees across the heavy construction, asphalt, concrete, pavement maintenance and rental industries.
With more than 30 years of experience in heavy civil construction, Henningfield has built a career rooted in technical expertise, leadership and a deep commitment to workforce development. Her background spans contract management, compliance and operational support. She is passionate about creating opportunities for women and emerging talent in the industry.
After serving as Midwest Contracts & Compliance Manager, Henningfield was promoted to Director of Workforce Development at Superior in 2024. In this role, she leads efforts to strengthen Superior’s talent pipeline by engaging students early, leveraging technology and social media, and creating clear accessible pathways from education to employment.
She serves on the steering committee for Superior Women in Construction (SWiC), a company program focused on developing women’s leadership capabilities and creating pathways for career advancement. She also helped organize the first-ever Indiana Constructors Inc. All-Girls Summer Camp, introducing high school girls to construction careers through hands-on experiences.
“Amy has a gift for recognizing potential and helping people imagine themselves in careers they may never have considered,” said Nick Largura, Superior Construction CEO. “By connecting mentorship with real-world experiences, she shows young people that construction offers opportunity, growth and a future worth pursuing.”
The award is managed by ForConstructionPros.com and its affiliate brands, including Equipment Today, Asphalt Contractor, Rental, Concrete Contractor and Pavement Maintenance & Reconstruction.
