Superior Construction Earns Dual Safety Recognition from FTBA

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 25, 2026) — Superior Construction has received two safety awards from the Florida Transportation Builders’ Association (FTBA): the FTBA Safety Award and the FTBA Safety Award of Excellence.

The FTBA Safety Award recognizes member companies that meet or exceed the association’s safety requirements based on annual OSHA logs. The Safety Award of Excellence sets a higher bar, evaluating companies on both quantitative metrics — including Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART) — and qualitative factors such as employee engagement, management commitment and safety program best practices.

In 2025, Superior logged 2,635,243 workforce hours company-wide with a TRIR of 0.83, its best since 2012. The result reflects four consecutive years of improvement, with the company’s TRIR declining from 1.38 in 2022 to 1.24 in 2023, 1.07 in 2024 and 0.83 in 2025. 

Superior applies a comprehensive safety system across every project. Daily task hazard analyses, role-based training requirements and the company’s L.A.S.T. (Life-Altering Significant Tasks) program — which focuses crews on six high-risk categories — form the foundation of how Superior approaches jobsite safety.
