Superior Construction’s Ryan Hamrick Makes ENR’s 2022 Top Newsmakers List
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (January 30, 2023) — Engineering News-Record (ENR) has named Superior Construction’s Central Florida Division Manager, Ryan Hamrick, to its 2022 ‘Top Newsmakers’ list. Hamrick, who’s been with the company since 2016, was recognized for helping lead the team that restored access to Sanibel Island following Hurricane Ian.
ENR is the construction industry’s leading publication reporting on the top design firms, architects, engineers, construction companies and projects in the United States and worldwide.
Each year, ENR editors select their nominees for the industry newsmakers list, and a panel chooses the top 25 candidates. The list comprises construction industry professionals who have been featured in ENR articles throughout the year for their exceptional work in their community. You can view this year’s class here.
Hamrick served as project director of the Sanibel Causeway emergency repairs, which were successfully completed almost two weeks ahead of schedule. The work was completed in a joint venture with the Miami-based de Moya Group, along with Ajax Paving of Fort Myers, Fla. The Superior-de Moya JV team was also selected to complete the phased design-build of the causeway’s permanent repair, which is currently underway.
“It’s an honor to be on ENR’s newsmakers list, but it’s also a company recognition,” said Hamrick. “This achievement would not have been possible without our leadership and the dozens of dedicated team members who made reestablishing the community’s connection to Sanibel Island a priority. Completing these repairs as quickly as we did is truly a testament to all their efforts.”
Each awardee is profiled in more detail in the latest edition of ENR. The 2022 Newsmakers class will also be recognized at an in-person ceremony ENR will host in New York City this April.
