Superior Construction, Partners Complete Give Kids the World Village Repairs
After months of planning and preparation, Superior Construction and its project partners, Crush Supply LLC, Southern Carlson, Inc., CEMEX, and United Rentals, have completed repairs at Give Kids the World Village (GKTW) in central Florida. The nonprofit organization provides weeklong, cost-free vacations for children with critical illnesses and their families.
“We are hoping to start a long relationship with Give Kids the World to complete many projects in the future,” said Project Superintendent Kenny Wooten. “This one was special as it provided access for the guests and visitors, and the maintenance workers gained a wider access point for their working equipment. We were very happy to complete our first project and look forward to many more.”

Crews worked weekends to repair a 130-foot-long section of sidewalk at the nonprofit organization’s resort in Kissimmee, Florida. The sidewalk will ensure accessibility for all guests, including children in wheelchairs.

While Superior provided the labor, its project partners supplied the materials needed to complete the job. Crush Supply LLC provided three haul-away dumpsters and 12 tons of crushed concrete for the sidewalk subgrade. Southern Carlson, Inc. donated rebar, wire mesh, and formwork lumber. CEMEX supplied 33 cubic yards of 4000 psi concrete, and United Rentals provided the Georgia buggies for the concrete placement.
Superior’s crews are scheduled to complete another project for GKTW in May of this year. They plan to remove and replace a 70-foot-long by 4-foot-wide section of sidewalk damaged by oak tree roots. The work will be completed in one weekend to minimize the impact on guests.
