US 35 Bridge Rehabilitation

We were honored to continue our legacy by replacing the US 35 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad — a structure originally built by Superior Construction in the 1970s. This multi-phased, fast-track complete bridge replacement included removing and replacing the deck as well as structural steel repairs. To ensure successful project completion and minimize impacts to ongoing operations at the adjacent LaPorte County Courthouse, Norfolk Southern Railroad, and LaPorte Hospital, we held weekly meetings to facilitate transparent communication and implement pre-planning. We also implemented a complex maintenance of traffic (MOT) plan for the safety of our crews as well as vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
