Overview

Located near the heart of Purdue University’s campus, the US 52 bridge spans approximately 960 ft across the Wabash River. The scope of the project included the complete demolition and reconstruction of a seven-span bridge structure while simultaneously implementing the environmental protection for both existing wetlands and the Wabash River. We partnered with INDOT Geotechnical and Purdue University to offer students and faculty the ability to conduct static pile testing on 24-inch diameter piling during active construction operations. This was the first project in which INDOT utilized this type of testing and pile type.
